Tagaytay City and the Municipality of San Nicolas in Batangas have signed a sisterhood pact to boost tourism development in their areas.
The signing was held at the municipal building in San Nicolas where Mayor Epifanio Sandoval and Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham Tolentino .
Aside from tourism development, the two contracting parties will commit themselves to further improve the economic development of their areas by providing livelihood opportunities to their constituents. The town of San Nicolas and Tagaytay City will also be open to local and foreign tourists.
Tagaytay is famous not only for its cool climate and the so-called “Character City” approach but the admirable view of the Taal lake. Meanwhile, the town of San Nicolas is pushing themselves to become the “Gateway to Taal Volcano” for tourists to experience Taal crater trekking and the bird watching at the bird sanctuary.
Batangas Governor Vilma Santos who was one of the signatories in the agreement, expressed confidence that the number of tourists will increase following the signing of the sisterhood pact.
Gov. Santos said she will issue a directive to fast-track various infrastructure projects including the circumferential road network along the premises of the lake and other government facilities not only for the visiting tourists but for the people of Batangas as well. (CPG/RBF,PIA-Cavite)
