In response to the urgent need for relief aid for flood victims in Metro Manila , The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas has opened its Donors’ Desk at the Field Office to accept donations in cash or in kind.
In a special meeting called by Task Force Tabang yesterday, the DSWD-7 was tasked to supervise and coordinate the processing, documentation and receiving as well as storing and repacking of relief goods both food and non- food items. Further, this welfare department was also assigned to coordinate with the shipment /transport groups for the delivery of these relief goods to the affected areas.
Basic needs include canned goods, bottled water, medicines, clothes, underwears, blankets, kitchen and cooking utensils , toiletries and hygiene kits.
To recall, non-stop monsoon rains left 80% of Metro Manila flooded four days ago, forcing thousands of affected population to seek safer and drier grounds as well as temporary shelter in evacuation centers.
A Donors’ Desk is put up by the DSWD, Field Office-7 located at corners M.J. Cuenco and Gen. Maxilum Sts., Cebu City to receive any donations in cash and in kind.
