Tropical Storm "Igme" has intensified as it moves to the north slowly, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa said on its 11 a.m. bulletin that Igme will bring light to moderate rains over Luzon, especially the western area, as it is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon. The weather bureau specifically listed Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan and Mindoro as areas in Western Luzon to be affected by the rains.

The center of the storm has been located 280 kilometers (km) east of Aparri, Cagayan around 10 a.m. today. Within 500 km of its diameter, Igme is estimated to bring 5-15 millimeters of rainfall per hour (moderate to heavy).

It also has maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness of up to 135 kph.

With this, signal no. 1 remains raised in Isabela and Cagayan.

Igme is expected to be 260 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes by tomorrow morning as it move north at 7 kph. (PIA-GHQ)
