Moving northward, typhoon 'Igme' continues to intensify at maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Based on its 4 p.m.bulletin, Pagasa said Igme, which has gustiness of up to 200 kph, is moving north at 11kph.

The eye of Typhoon Igme was located based on satellite and surface data at 320 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.4°N 125.3°E), it is expected to hit Taiwan tomorrow.

The islands of Batanes will experience isolated rainshowers with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northwest to West will prevail over the rest of Northern Luzon and coming from the Southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Signal number 1 remains raised in Batanes Group of Islands. (PIA-GHQ)
