It has been sung in numerous provincial programs hosted by the province but it was only yesterday that it became official.

The Pangasinan Hymn entitled ‘Luyag Ko Tan Yaman‘ (My province, my treasure) was officially launched at the opening of the tourism month celebration in the province with governor Amado T. Espino,Jr. signing Provincial Ordinance No. 154 and witnessed by vice-gov. Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. and members of the provincial board.

The lyrics of the song was composed in collaboration with many Pangasinenses including Espino and local singer–songwriter Raul ‘Insiyong’ Tamayo. The song enjoins every Pangasinense to be proud of his roots as being a Pangasinense a treasure in itself. It also enjoins people to express their love for the province not only in words but also in deeds.

Here are the lyrics of the official hymn of Pangasinan:

Luyag ko tan Yaman

(Official Pangasinan Hymn)

Sekder ka tan dayew mi

Pangasinan ya pinabli

Deen mo tan iyaliguas

Piugagep kon lawas

Diad pusok Pangasinan

Agka nalingwanan

Luyag ko ya nianakan

Matuwan aliguas mo natay anengneng la

Lapud panamablid sika

Say dayat mon napnoy dakep tan say yaman,

The hymn is expected to be sung not only during provincial events but also in the weekly flag -raising ceremonies of provincial and municipal employees. (ANL/VHS-PIA 1 Pangasinan)
