A poster-making contest participated by eight schools in this city highlighted the Consumer Welfare month celebration last month with the theme “Get Organized, Be Heard, Be Empowered.”

Pablito Budoy of DTI-Quezon said the contest aims to increase the awareness of the community about the rights and responsibilities of consumers.

According to Budoy, the academe, through the students and faculty members, were enlisted for the activity because the students would inform their parents and friends while the teachers could enhance their curriculum on consumerism.

Aside from the poster-making contest, DTI-Quezon also held a lecture on consumerism at the Calayan Education Foundation Inc., Lutucan National High School in Sariaya, Quezon; Sta. Catalina National High School; and Infanta Credit and Dev’t Cooperative.

DTI-Quezon also participated in the Dulaang Pangmamimili 2012 regional finals held at Malayan Colleges in Cabuyao City, Laguna with Sacred Heart College of Lucena representing Quezon province in the regional contest. (RMO-PIA 4A, Quezon)
