14 Filipinos to arrive from Syria

The Philippine Embassy in Damascus led by Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Alfredo M. Borlongan reported that 14 Filipinos, including two minors, will be arriving in Manila from Syria today, August 19.

This is still part with of the repatriation efforts of the Philippine Government said a DFA statement.

Emirates flight EK 332 carrying the latest batch of repatriates will land at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 4:35 in the afternoon.

This will bring the total number of repatriates to 2,079.

As the violence in Syria escalates, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) renewed its call on the family members of Filipinos in Syria to provide the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) with up-to-date information regarding their loved ones’ whereabouts and contact details in Syria by calling (02) 834-3333 or (02) 834-4996 or by e-mailing oumwa@dfa.gov.ph.

Filipinos in Syria are also urged to call the Embassy at (963-11)-6132626 so that the latter's personnel could reach them. (DFA)
